letterpress& lantern

Brand voice guides, website pages and launch emails for founder-led B2B and wellness companies — fixed fees, $450 to $1,400.

We set your sentences the way a press sets type: slow, inked, pressed into the paper until you can feel the bite. Then we read them aloud by lamplight to hear if they sound like you.

Thursday, four o’clock: a quart jar still warm through the paper bag, steam fogging the lid. Ginger first, then bay, then the long quiet of marrow.

call, proof, press: how a page gets made

Founders tell us the same thing on the first call: the business sounds warmer in the kitchen than it does on the website. We write down the kitchen.

Letterpress & Lantern is a small studio on Exchange Place in New York, NY. A single page moves like this; the bigger packages stretch the middle, not the ends.

  1. day 0

    the kitchen-table call

Forty minutes. You talk, we listen for the room: what it smells like when a customer walks in.

  2. day 1–2

    the voice interview

Recorded with your OK, then transcribed. We underline the sentences you’d actually say.

  3. day 4

    first proof

Pulled hot, like the first sheet off the press. You mark it up in the margins.

  4. day 5–6

    second pull

Two rounds of edits are in the fee. We re-ink, re-read aloud, and tighten.

  5. day 6

    handoff

Clean files in a shared doc, plus a one-page cheat sheet for whoever writes as you next.

04 / 06

questions people ask before they sign

why a fixed fee and not an hourly rate?

Because a page shouldn’t cost more on the days the sentence won’t come. You get the price in writing before we begin, and it stays the price.

what if the first proof doesn’t sound like me?

Then we’ve learned something cheap and early. The voice interview is recorded, so we go back to what you actually said, not our guess at it. Two rounds of edits are included in every package.

do you only write for wellness and b2b?

Those are the rooms we know best: studios, clinics, consultancies, software with a human behind it. The real filter is founder-led. If the person whose name is on the door still reads the emails, we’re a fit.

how long until I see words on a page?

A single page reaches first proof on working day four. The voice guide takes about twelve working days from first call to handoff.

can you design it or send it for me?

No. We write; your designer or email platform does the rest. We hand over copy in a shared doc with margin notes on tone, spacing, and where a line wants room to breathe.

06 / 06

ready to start? send us the first paragraph.

Tell us what you sell and how it sounds on your best day. We answer within one working day, Monday to Friday, with a time for the kitchen-table call.
